Teachers turned travel advisor, Jake Karkula, takes pride in helping clients plan the perfect trip based on their travel aspirations within their budget. Expect meticulous planning and extraordinary communication from him in planning your next vacation!
A study abroad program taking him to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Cook Islands is what sparked Jake's passion for travel. The experience led to a second adventurous trip just one week after receiving his Music Education degree in January 2005 as he embarked on a 10 week solo "backpacking" adventure around Southeast Asia visiting Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. After returning in April, he was hired as a high school band director at Menomonie High School in Western Wisconsin and has served in this role ever since.
As a high school band director, Jake has had the opportunity to lead his music groups on various performance tours including trips to Florida, New York, and in more recent years on Caribbean cruises. Along with performing on the ship and at port, the groups have enjoyed the sites, activities and experiences at ports all over the Caribbean.
From an early age, Jake's wife Kelly has also possessed a strong interest in travel. Starting with annual summer family trips, to traveling with friends in college, to traveling around the world with her husband and two daughters, Kelly has never stopped chasing new adventures. After graduating with a degree in elementary education in 2003, Kelly has been working as a second grade teacher in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. She continues to utilize her breaks to travel as often as possible and finds ways to bring her experiences back to her classroom.
Together, Jake and Kelly never miss an opportunity to explore new countries, absorb diverse cultures, and jump into new experiences, all with their two young daughters in tow. They have been to 50+ countries and are passionate about travel planning. They love to help people find ways to make their dream vacation a reality!
